Hydrotesting And Workshop Facility
Our facility is certified for hydro static testing of high pressure cylinders. Kitchen hood fire suppression systems use pressurized tanks to deliver liquid fire suppressant to extinguish fires. Hydrostatic testing is offered by HA Fire Protection Inc as a service for to re certify tanks according to DOT USA Department of Transportation guidelines. We are licensed to re certify tanks for fire protection systems including Range Guard, Ansul, Pyro Chem, Amarex, and Buckeye as well as high pressure tanks for CO2 and Nitrogen gas cartridges.
Q. What is Hydrotesting?
Hydrotesting is liquid pressure testing the cylinder. It is an industry standard method of re-qualifying and certifying pressure cylinders. The cylinder can be used to hold liquid or gas. The test is to determine whether they are safe for continued use. The process involves in-depth visual examinations of both the interior and exterior of the cylinder, along with a water pressure test of the cylinder. This Hydrostatic test, or cylinder requalification, is required by the USA DOT (Department of Transportation), NFPA 17A, California Fire Code, and the cylinder manufacturer. Other types of uses for hydrotesting cylinders include SCUBA thanks, Oxygen, Nitrogen and CO2 cylinders, and other compressed gasses.
Q. When is Hydrostatic testing required?
Usually every 10 or 12 years. Call us for a quick estimate or work needed for your fire protection needs. Hydrotesting is required on most parts of a fire extinguisher and parts used for the kitchen hood fire suppression systems. Even building fire sprinkler systems require pressure testing to make sure pipes can hold water pressure.
Q. Is My Fire Protection Guy Licensed?
Make sure your fire protection company is using a licensed hydrotest technician with valid certifications to test cylinders. DOT certification is a federal license to allow testing of high pressure fire protection tanks. HA Fire Protection Inc is a licensed/certified D.O.T. testing facility. HA Fire Protection has a certified facility and technicians to test and certify your tanks for safe and effective for use to extinguish fires.
